Summer Reading Programs 2009

Registration for Summer Programs Begins May 18

First Step Storytime

Tuesdays June 9-July 14
9:30-10:15 a.m. for children under 2, with an adult.
10:45-11:30 a.m. for 2-3 year olds, with an adult.

Preschool Storytime

June 10, 17, 24 and July 8 and 15.
10:00-11:00 a.m. for 3- 5 year olds who have not attended kindergarten.
No adult required in the programs (but must remain in library).

Great Artists!

Art activities based on the style of famous artists for children entering grades 1-5.

Exploring Your Environments through Ecosystems and Soils

Presented by the University of Maryland Extension-Talbot County 4H Program. For 8-13 year olds. Identify plants and animals that live in the soil. Here's your chance to get your hands dirty, have fun and learn something new. June 17, 2:00-3:15 p.m.

What's the Matter?

Chemistry with Foam, Fizz, and Flash

Boys Only Book Group with Bill Peak

For 8- to 10-year-old boys. Bring a favorite book and your lunch. The library will supply dessert and beverages. June 24, 12:00-1:00 p.m.

Read to Therapy Dogs

For 6-12 year olds. Bring a book (or choose a library book) and read to a therapy dog. (Register for 15-minute intervals.)
Easton: June 30 and August 11.
St. Michaels: July 7.
At both locations: 3:00-4:30 p.m.

Make Your Own Puppets

For children grades 1-5.

Songwriting for Up and Coming Musicians with Kentavius Jones

Going Green with Nim

State law requires that a parent or designated adult remain in the library with any child eight years old and younger while they are attending any of the programs. The adult does not have to attend the program, but must remain in the library while the child is here.
