William Hughlett
Land and Legal Papers, 1670-1850
Papers assembled for, or made in the course of establishing William Hughlett's lands in Talbot County, especially around Bullingbrook Creek, ca. 1800-1850, with copies and originals of deeds and other land papers dating from ca. 1670. Included are copies of papers in Land Office; County Court and Chancery cases, legal memoranda and correspondence relating to the same. The papers are arranged alphabetically, by the name of the property group, originals and copies are filed in separate folders. When more than one piece of land is being sold the instrument is placed in a file folder under the name mentioned in the deed. Copy indicates that the document is a copy of the original, drawn up at the same time as the original.
