The Cannonball House

Location:St. Michaels, Maryland
Description:Legend has it that when St. Michaels ws shelled by the British in a night attack in 1813, the town was blacked-out and lanterns were hung in the tree tops to make the attackers believe the town was on a high bluff. This resulted in the British overshooting the town. The story is that a cannonball hit the chimney, rolled down the attic stairway and endangered the life of a woman and her baby. Located on Mulberry St. by the Green.
