Playing the Game Online

Register and follow the prompts on the TCFL Beanstack Page or download the Beanstack app (free from the Apple App store or the Google Play store) to your mobile device. Registration begins May 15.

What is Beanstack? An app and/or website where you can register for TCFL’s 2021 Summer Reading program, and earn “badges” by reading and/or completing activities!

How do you play? Log the days you read to be eligible to win prizes and gift certificates. Try out the fun activity badges too! The more days you read, the more chances you have to win.

In Person, Outdoor Events

Chesapeake Children's Book Festival - (Hybrid)
Noted Author/Illustrator Bryan Collier will appear live on stage for two performances at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Attendance will be limited to 100 for each performance. His presentation will be streamed online on facebook.com/Talbot-County-Free-Library along with virtual appearances by 9 other authors. The Chesapeake Children's Book Festival kicks off TCFL's 2021 Summer Reading Challenge.

Tuesdays, June 15 and 29, July 20, 10 a.m.
Stories, Songs and Rhymes recommended for children birth – 5 years (with parent or caregiver). Bring your own blanket. In case of inclement weather, program will be cancelled. Registration limited and required.

Wednesdays, June 9 and 23, July 14 and 28, 10:30 a.m.

Learn to Play the Ukulele! Join Suzanne Sanders and Jonathan Williams for this engaging music lesson for pairs: child and adult. In person, outdoor event for ages 6-16 (with an adult). Ukuleles provided. In the event of inclement weather, this event will be cancelled.

Come out and see Master Naturalist and environmental educator Bryan Gomes for the story of the Chesapeake Bay waters, and enjoy a hands-on activity. Afterwards, be ready to get on the “boat” and tong for oysters the way watermen still do in the Chesapeake Bay today. For children ages 5-10 accompanied by an adult. In case of rain, event will be held in the meeting room.
